​Who We Are


We are a volunteer based, non-profit open admission shelter. We are located in California and provide care to animals within the cities of Selma, Fowler, and Kingsburg, regardless of age, health, or behavior.

We are committed to reducing overpopulation by:

  • Promoting adoption

  • Advocacy for the welfare and protection of animals 

  • Encouraging responsible pet ownership

  • Enhancing the lives of our community members by providing volunteer opportunities

  • Educating youth and adults in the proper care and treatment of animals

  • Providing low cost spay and neuter programs as grant funds become available

Lost Pets


​Second Chance Animal Shelter strives to reunite lost pets with their families. If you have lost your pet please search through the animals currently housed at the shelter. If you have further questions, please contact the shelter at (559) 896-7227. The shelter is open for reclaim 7 days a week.

Volunteer Orientation

Before volunteering or performing community service at the shelter you must attend a 30-45 minute volunteer orientation session at Second Chance Animal Shelter at 2831 W Front St.  Orientation occurs ever 1st Saturday of the month at 10:30 am.
